Japanese Investors Are Developing PV-RO Distillation

Mataram, 4/6 (ANTARA) - Investors from Kitakyushu City, Japan, is developing clean water distillation methods with advanced technologies that Photo Voltaic Reverse Osmosis (PV-RO) on the island of Sumbawa and will be continued on the island of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB ).

PT Bio Greenland has developed castor on the island of Sumbawa and Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, since 2009. In fact, it has been built a castor seed plant in the Samapuin village, Sumbawa District, Sumbawa Regency.

Japanese investors were implementing pilot desalination of brackish and sea water into fresh water by the method of P-RO.

Water distillation project budget is derived from the grants Japanese Cooperation Agency (JICA), which is implemented by Suido Kiko Kaisha LTD.

The equipment is valued at one million yen, equivalent to about Rp110 million, which is capable of extracting 500 liters of water / day. Distilled water sourced from wells or river water and the people or seawater.

Water distillation equipment with P-RO method is driven by solar power energy.

On the other hand with the establishment, it can absorb the local labor both for office and power plant field. But more important in a series of activities in our factory are farmers. Without the farmers who brought castor seeds to our factory, it is impossible we can operate, he said.
